What is a lead? How is it created on the platform?

In this article, we will explain in detail what a lead is, how to create one within our platform and the view that we will find when entering this section. Leads are essential in any commercial strategy, as they represent potential customers interested in our products or services.
In addition, we will show you step by step how to use our platform to create and manage leads, thus optimizing the follow-up of your business opportunities from the first contact to conversion into a client.

Where can I find this option? → Left side menu Leads
Remember that this option will only be available if you have the following permissions activated: Leads

What is a lead?

A lead is a person or entity that has shown interest in our company's products or services, usually through direct or indirect interactions, such as downloading content, completing a simulation, or consulting the web. In other words, a lead is a potential customer who has provided contact information, such as their name, email, or phone number, allowing the company to initiate a follow-up process with the goal of converting that interest into a sale. Leads are essential for the sales and marketing team, as they represent real business opportunities that can be nurtured and managed throughout the buying cycle.

How to create a lead on the platform?

We must access through the leads option that we find in the left side menu of the platform, on this screen we will find different options that we will detail later in this article, for now we will focus on the "Create lead" option.
Once we have clicked on this button, we are asked to fill in the basic information of the lead to be created: name, surname, email and telephone number. In addition, we must assign a priority to this lead by placing in this field what we consider or define internally as a company, it can be numbers or texts, which will indicate to our sales team whether the management to be carried out is a priority or not; then we select the country to which this lead belongs and the status that will correspond to what we have identified of this potential client.

Below all this information, the dynamic lead fields that we have created will appear (See article Dynamic Field Configuration - Groups and Dynamic Field Configuration - Key Aspects and Types ).
On the right side of the screen we must fill in additional fields regarding the channel, subchannel, campaign and notes that we will assign to this lead.

When we access leads, in addition to the option to create leads, we find multiple other options that allow us to manage our leads efficiently and easily:

1) We have the option to import several leads at the same time through an Excel file and we can even download the template for this in the button right next to it (download template) .

2) We also find the "Operate" button which allows us to select leads to facilitate the action in a massive way . The actions that can be performed with several leads at the same time are:
  1. Delete
  2. Assign user
  3. Change status
By selecting the leads on which you want to perform an action simultaneously and clicking on this button, a list with the possible actions opens so that the user can choose which action they want to execute.

Important : Not all actions are always available.

The following options are enabled if the following criteria are met:
Assign user:
  1. If you have permission to save leads.
  2. The selected leads belong to the same campaign (if they have different campaigns, a message will appear explaining why this option is blocked).
Change status:
  1. If you have permission to save leads.
  2. All leads have less than 8 calls.
  3. No lead has an associated customer.
Delete:
  1. If you have permission to delete leads.
  2. No leads have an associated customer.

3) We also have the option to filter the list of leads we have created, which allows for faster and more efficient management. We can filter by channels or general filters.

4) We can perform actions on a particular lead by clicking on the three dots that we see on the right side of the screen next to each lead and a list of available options will be displayed.
  1. Assign user: Allows us to assign a lead to a particular user so that they can manage it.
  2. Change status: We use this option to modify the status of the lead when required.
  3. Edit lead: To make edits to some information in that lead.
  4. Edit notes: Allows us to edit the notes that we have previously recorded.
  5. Send email: We can use this option to send an email to this lead and promote the business closure.
  6. Delete lead: If it is necessary to delete the lead, we will use this option.
