In this article we are going to see how the electrical calculation of our Quoting Tool works. This is used to automatically calculate the inverter that we are going to place and the way in which we are going to do it in a customizable way.
Where can I find this option? → Quoting Tool → Left Side Menu → Electrical Calculation
Please note that in order to use this module you must have purchased the "electrical calculation" module . If you cannot see it, please contact your administrator.
On this screen we will find two main tabs (Settings and Investors). We will see them in detail below.
Settings
Parameters
These data are provided by default, but can be modified manually if necessary. There are three pieces of data:
- Connection type. This refers to the connection of the installation and, therefore, of the home. This can be single-phase or three-phase.
- Minimum DC/AC ratio allowed. This data is given as a percentage and refers to the minimum ratio between the power of the modules and the nominal power of the inverter.
- Maximum DC/AC ratio allowed. This data is given as a percentage and refers to the maximum ratio between the power of the modules and the nominal power of the inverter.
Once we have completed this information, we will click on continue and we will automatically go to the brands tab.
Brands
In this tab we see all the inverters that we have created in CRM, classified by manufacturer. We can break down these manufacturers with the arrow on the right to see each one of them. At this point we must select all the available manufacturers if we want it to be completely automatic and the QuotingTool will select the one that, according to the calculations, is the most optimal inverter. We can also select only some manufacturers or specific models if we want this calculation to be carried out only with these. In this way, the calculation will be more customizable to each case.
It is very important that all products, in this case the inverters, are correctly created and with all fields completed for a correct electrical calculation.
At the end of this step we must click on calculate and we will automatically go to the investors tab.
Investors
In this tab, all the optimal options, according to the calculations, of possible inverters will be displayed in the form of a list. Next to each inverter, the MPPT will appear in green or orange (depending on the degree of performance). Once we select the inverter we are going to use, a drop-down menu will open to the right of the string configuration.
A solar inverter's MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) is a technology that optimizes the efficiency of solar panels. Its main function is to ensure that solar panels operate at their maximum power point, constantly adjusting voltage and current to maximize energy production.
In simple terms, MPPT allows the solar inverter to extract as much power as possible from the solar panels, even when sunlight conditions vary. This is especially useful in situations where there is partial shading or changes in the orientation of the panels.
String configuration.
In this section we must select how we are going to place the installation chain. To do this we will select whether it is going to be horizontal or vertical depending on the direction of the installation structure and the different options will be shown at the bottom that will indicate the starting point at which the system will try to fill in the installation strings.
