Profitability
In this article we will explain the profitability tab within the Quoting Tool. We are going to see the data related to the profitability of our photovoltaic installation (ROI, IRR, Electricity Savings, etc.), as well as the economic data such as the values environmental. In this way we will be able to see globally and quickly how profitable the client's installation is in the next 25 years .

Remember that this tab will only be visible if you have it pre-configured in the type of offer you are working on.On this screen we will find different sections, including general information about our installation and a graph detailing its profitability.
General information
Within this section we find three blocks that are divided into details of our installation, its area and the batteries. This will be shown in tab format, which we can expand by clicking on the arrow available to the right of each of them. Furthermore, these are not simultaneous, that is, every time we display a tab, the others will be closed for a better visualization of the information.
Installation data
In this tab we can see information related to the design of our installation. Let's explain one by one what each value is:
- Modules. Shows the number of panels that we have decided to place/budget.
- Optimal modules. Shows the recommended number of panels based on the indicated consumption.
- Module power. Shows the power of each module used.
- Total power. Shows the total power of our installation.
- Installation type. It will depend on the flow where we do it (residential, business, communities...) and it cannot be modified from here.
Area information
In this section you can see information about the roof area selected for installation. Let's explain individually what each value means:
- Performance ratio. It is shown in percentage and expresses the relationship between the real performance and the nominal performance of the installation after applying the losses due to shading and the gain due to orientation to the installation, that is, it includes all those losses derived from the efficiency of the materials, thermal losses , electrical losses and optical losses of the installation.
- Lost by shadows. Shows the percentage of loss due to shadows that our installation will have. If this calculation is carried out during the design, it appears directly reflected to us, otherwise we can modify it manually.
- Orientation gain. Shows the percentage of the gain due to the installation's orientation. This value represents the percentage difference in the incidence of irradiation on the surface of the modules based on their orientation and inclination.
- Annual irradiation. It shows the annual irradiation in the horizontal plane that has the coordinates of the installation.
- Annual production. Shows the total annual production of the facility.
Battery information
Remember that this tab will only be visible if you have contracted the battery module.From this tab we can add batteries to the installation. The quoting tool will directly indicate the power to be covered by a battery according to the surplus we have. We will be proposed a list of available batteries to choose from based on the ones we have created in the products section. Once we have selected the battery or batteries that we want to include, we must click on add so that it appears reflected in the BOM. If you want to delete a battery that we have previously included, we must do it from the BOM .
We must bear in mind that when adding batteries all the calculations made so far based on the batteries we add will be modified (savings, self-consumption, return on investment...).
General profitability values
In this section we are going to see the most relevant data of the offer. Thanks to this we will be able to have a general view of it and help us with the data to sell the installation to the client.
- Total cost of electricity. It shows us in euros the consumption that the installation of the electrical network will make over the next 25 years.
- Electricity savings. It shows us in euros the savings that the installation will make thanks to the photovoltaic installation over the next 25 years. By self-consuming part of the installation's energy we will have less demand on the electrical grid.
- Percentage of self-consumption . It shows us in percentage the relationship between the plant's self-consumption and its production.
- TE FV price. It is the average price of the electricity rate after electrical installation.
- IRR. It is the Internal Rate of Return. It is a financial metric used to evaluate the profitability of an investment in a solar photovoltaic energy system.
- ROI. It is the Return on Investment. It is a metric that identifies the time it takes to recover the investment.
Graphic
This graph will show in orange the years it takes to recover the initial investment and in green from that moment on, that is, we will see the savings we have from year to year. In addition, we will find a vertical line at the moment we reach return 0. In the example in the image we see that this would happen in year 9.
In this graph we can see the annual savings for 25 years. Additionally, as we move the mouse over each year, we will see the details of that specific year and the values at the bottom will adapt, showing the updated information.
Economic data
In this section we will find information related to the installation depending on the year in which we are on the graph.
- Production. It shows us in Wh/year how much our installation has produced.
- Direct consumption. It shows us in Wh/year how much we have consumed directly from our installation.
- Not consumed. It shows us in Wh/year how much we have not consumed from our installation, that is, the surpluses we have had.
- Total saving. It shows us in euros the total savings we have had in the specific year thanks to our installation. Here we take into account data such as savings from self-consumption, savings from surpluses, rate changes and tax benefits.
- Savings for self-consumption. It shows us in euros the total savings we have had thanks to the energy consumed directly from our installation in the specific year.
- Savings from surpluses. It shows us in euros the total savings that we have had thanks to the energy produced and not consumed by our installation, that is, the energy that we have left over and from which we obtain a profit directly with our marketing company.
Important. Remember that this data will always be 0 unless we select the "with discharge" option on the electricity rates screen.
- Accumulated savings. It shows us in euros the total savings we have had, cumulatively, until the selected year. Here we take into account savings data for self-consumption, savings for surpluses, rate changes and tax benefits.
- Savings from accumulated self-consumption. It shows us in euros the total savings we have had thanks to the energy consumed directly from our installation in a cumulative manner until the specific year.
- Rest of accumulated savings. It shows us in euros the accumulated savings we have had thanks to the surpluses produced up to the selected year.
Environmental values
- CO2 savings. Each kWh of solar energy produced reduces a certain amount of CO2 emissions. This data shows us in Kg how much we have reduced this thanks to our installation.
- Equivalent km saved. This data is based on the average amount of CO2 that a car emits per kilometer traveled and shows us in km how much we have reduced this thanks to our installation.
- Equivalent barrels saved. Each kWh of solar energy produced avoids the need to use a certain amount of oil. This data shows us in barrels how much we have reduced this thanks to our installation.
- Trees planted. It is a way of communicating the environmental benefit of photovoltaic energy in terms of reducing CO2 emissions, translating this benefit into an equivalent number of trees planted.
Irradiation and Profitability
This section provides us with information about the irradiation levels that affect the installation based on its location. We have the monthly solar irradiation data according to the coordinates of the direction that we have used for the irradiation in the plane and we will also be able to observe the specific irradiation values for the projected installation. In addition, the monthly peak production of the installation appears.

Cost effectiveness
This section provides us with information on the profitability of our facility over the next 25 years. We can see the production data and savings of the facility. The financing and/or amortization data will also appear if we have selected them in the "Rates" tab.
All the values that appear in this table have been explained in the economic data part and can be printed as variables in the reports.
